Reviews from visitors

A very interesting place with a rich history. Four hours of engaging sightseeing, a boat crossing, a pleasant bar underground, and a guide passionate about their work. The mine is well-maintained, the route is well-planned, and while there's quite a bit of walking involved, there's also a ride on the underground train. Despite many tour groups visiting the mine, it never felt crowded. I highly recommend it, also for families with children.

An absolutely amazing place. We visited during the winter break, there were no crowds, but it's worth buying tickets online in advance. There's a large paid parking lot at the ticket office. The incredible, cheerful guide, Mr. Mariusz, showed us everything beautifully and told fascinating stories, with a great approach to children. The mine is impressive, taking you back in time to its beginnings, along with Mr. Mariusz’s stories – such a great experience. I highly recommend the boat ride through the dug tunnel. There’s a large sports field underground, so you can move around playing football or basketball. There’s a lot of walking, many stairs, but also a ride on a small mining train and the mining elevator. If anyone is thinking about visiting, I wholeheartedly recommend it.

The Bochnia Salt Mine is definitely one of the most extraordinary places worth visiting. Touring the mine is a true journey through time, allowing you to experience the era when salt was worth its weight in gold and its extraction was a major challenge. Our guide during the visit was someone with a true passion for the mine’s history, which significantly enriched the whole experience. His stories were full of fascinating facts that helped us understand not only the technical aspects of salt mining but also the rich history and culture of this place. I highly recommend a visit to the salt mine, especially with a guide who can share knowledge in such an interesting and engaging way. It’s an experience that stays with you for a long time and makes you feel like part of this unique heritage. Thank you, Mr. Ireneusz — warm regards and see you again! ❤️

The Bochnia Salt Mine is definitely worth a visit. The tour with the boat crossing takes about four hours. You go down by elevator, take a ride on the underground train, and enjoy multimedia presentations that will especially interest children. It's different from Wieliczka, with a slower pace of sightseeing.

The mine staff we had the chance to meet (overnight stay on 30.11.2024) were wonderful people, full of care, humor, kindness, and knowledge about this place. Highly recommended :)

PWe returned to the salt mine after 14 years... An amazing adventure, with a very engaging story of the mine told by our guide, Ms. Agnieszka. In four hours, we managed to ride the underground train, cross by boat, and walk many kilometers along the route. Highly recommended!!!!
