Teachers and supervisors can visit the mine free of charge, following the rule of one free supervisor per 10 students. How should we prepare a school group for the overnight stay?
Before the trip, it's a good idea to prepare the group for the unique experience of spending the night underground. The temperature in the mine is around 15–17°C (59–63°F), so we recommend dressing in layers and wearing full, comfortable sports shoes – proper footwear is essential for safely walking the tourist route. Each participant should bring personal items such as toiletries and a towel. Please note that mobile phones do not have signal underground, but there is Wi-Fi access in the Ważyn Chamber, allowing students to contact their parents. How should children dress for the overnight stay in the mine?
Children should wear warm clothes, preferably in layers, as the temperature in the mine stays around 15–17°C (59–63°F). For the night, we recommend bringing a warm tracksuit or a comfortable pajama suitable for underground conditions. During the winter season, children may also bring lighter shoes to change into for extra comfort. It's also important that they wear full, sporty footwear during the tour for safety reasons.

It's best to pack your belongings in a comfortable backpack or travel bag. Wheeled suitcases are not recommended, as they can be difficult to handle underground.

The Bochnia Salt Mine does not have a dedicated cloakroom or standard luggage storage. However, overnight guests can leave their belongings in the Ważyn Chamber, which serves as the sleeping area. For convenience, we recommend bringing only essential items packed in a backpack or travel bag. Due to the nature of the underground route and limited space, moving around with suitcases may be difficult.

After the elevator ride, participants walk down a sloped passage with stairs to reach the Ważyn Chamber, where the overnight stay takes place. At the end of the stay, they return the same way to take the elevator back to the surface.
