Underground Multimedia Exhibition

The Underground Multimedia Exhibition is a modern element of the tourist route at the Bochnia Salt Mine, which presents the history of the mine and the development of salt mining in an engaging way. The exhibition takes visitors through different eras, from the Middle Ages to the present day, using sound, light, and animations.

During the tour, participants encounter historical figures, including Polish kings, Genoese merchants, and Cistercians. The multimedia presentations are placed in authentic, historic chambers, enhancing the educational and cognitive value of the route.

Route with Multimedia Exhibition and Underground Boat Crossing

In this version of the tour, groups visit the historic chambers and mining galleries of the Bochnia Salt Mine, where multimedia stations are located. An additional attraction of the route is the underground boat crossing through the brine-flooded tunnel – this unique experience allows visitors to see the mine from a different perspective and gain a better understanding of the processes occurring in the underground environment. The tour ends in the Ważyn Chamber, where there is a recreational area and catering facilities.

Participants should be prepared for the conditions underground – the temperature in the mine is 15–17°C, so it is recommended to wear warm, comfortable clothing and sturdy sports shoes to ensure stability on the route. Due to the nature of the tour, large bags and unnecessary items that may hinder movement should not be brought. Please remember that smoking, including e-cigarettes, is prohibited in the mine. It is also advisable to review the detailed tour regulations before the visit and arrive punctually at the meeting point.

Yes, there is parking for coaches at the Bochnia Salt Mine. The parking fee for a coach/bus is 40 PLN.

Is there luggage storage or a cloakroom at the mine?

The mine does not have luggage storage or a cloakroom. Therefore, it is recommended to bring only the essentials that can be easily carried during the tour.

Can I leave the tour early if needed?

It is not possible to leave the tour early unless there is a very important reason, such as a medical emergency. For safety and organizational reasons, visitors are required to stay with the group for the entire duration of the tour. In case of an urgent need, you should immediately inform the guide or a mine employee.
