We invite students on an extraordinary journey through time that begins over 200 meters underground – in the oldest rock salt mine in Poland!
The Underground Multimedia Exhibition is a unique educational attraction that combines learning with adventure. Thanks to modern multimedia and realistic reenactments, students will discover what life and work in the mine looked like over the centuries. As they walk through the salt corridors, they’ll meet Genoese merchants, Polish kings, and even the spirit of a Cistercian monk who will reveal the secrets behind the origins of the Bochnia salt mine.
This is more than just a tour – it’s an interactive lesson in history, geography, and natural science all in one. All of it takes place in a safe, atmospheric, and breathtaking underground world.

How to prepare a group of children for the tourist route tour with the underground boat ride?
Before visiting the mine, it is important to prepare the children for the specifics of underground sightseeing. Inform them about the descent and ascent by elevator, as well as the need to dress appropriately – the temperature in the mine is around 15-17°C, so it is best to dress in layers, known as the "onion" method. It is also important to wear proper, comfortable sports shoes, even in summer. The tourist route includes a boat ride through a brine-filled excavation, so it’s a good idea to prepare the children for this unique experience and encourage them to listen attentively to the guide, who will talk about the history of the mine and the underground routes. Before the tour begins, there are restrooms available at the entrance and underground.
